This still is a loyal copy of stills used to manufacture essential oils but also of alcohols.

To extract essential oil of lavender, you may use distillation by steam or hydrodistillation. Steam crosses the plants and involves oil. Charged of molecules, it is brought back in the liquid state by refrigeration. The mixture is collected in the condenser where water and essential oil are separated. Essential oil, lighter, survive above the medicated water.

The still is composed of 3 parts: the boiler, the condenser by way of a "gooseneck", the separator.
