Noni or Morinda citrifolia L. is a South Sea fruit that grows throughout Polynesia. This plant (also called ?Indian mulberry?) was probably introduced by seafarers from south-east Asia when they settled in the widely scattered islands of the Pacific. Today it is found in all populated regions, which means that it must have been spread through the islands by man. Practically every island and every country has its own name for noni. The plant has always been used traditionally as a food product with many different uses.
We are the first company in Europe to sell a juice made from the noni fruit that is organically produced in accordance with the EC Organic Production Regulation. The product is sold by the name Cook Island Noni? and is certified organic. The Cook Islands claim to be the only fully organic farming region in the world. The use of pesticides and herbicides is forbidden. Cook Island Noni? is a product of the intact environment of this small group of islands. The fruit is inspected on the Cook Islands by BioGro from New Zealand, which is officially designated in the EC Organic Production Regulation as a recognized organic certification authority. In Germany observation of the Regulation is monitored by BCS-?ko-Garantie in Nuremberg.
