Nigelle oil, also known as the oil of the Pharaohs, is an old natural remedy. In Egypt and the Middle East it has been used for centuries.

When archaeologists opened the Pharaoh Toutankhamon’s tomb, they found a phial of nigelle oil, almost certainly used to soothe the passage to the afterlife. According to the Islamic prophet, Mahomet (570-632 AD), “nigelle oil cured all ills except death”.
